The RCD is one of the organizations leading the way in promoting climate-smart farming practices that sequester carbon into the soil and bring about multiple environmental and economic benefits.

The RCD of Greater San Diego County is committed to habitat restoration, especially along the riparian corridors of our reservoirs and rivers.

The RCD is a founding member of this network of agencies and organizations working together to support pollinator health and habitat.

We manage the largest community garden in the county, with 210 garden plots, six ¼ acre mini-farms, and a demonstration garden.

A new community garden just opened in Bonita! The RCD will be managing the garden through an agreement with the County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation.

The RCD manages Wild Willow Farm – a non-profit educational farm in Southwest San Diego County – that inspires people to connect to food, land, and each other.

We manage the programs of the FSCSDC, including wildfire hazard reduction programs and education, resources for community Fire Safe Councils, and bi-monthly FSCSDC meetings.
